Leigh Leaity - NZOS Gold Medal of Achievement

NZOS President Larissa Mastakova presented Leigh with the Gold Medal, acknowledging her dedication and the many contributions she has made to the Society over the years.

A Longstanding Contribution to NZOS

Leigh has served the New Zealand Orchid Society in numerous roles, including Society President. She currently holds three important positions as Judging Registrar, Show Marshal and Society Secretary.

These roles involve considerable work and commitment, much of which takes place behind the scenes. Leigh helps keep Society activities organised, supports orchid shows and contributes to the smooth running of the organisation.

As Judging Registrar, Leigh helps coordinate the work of the NZOS Judging Panel and supports the training and development of orchid judges. Her work helps maintain the standards and knowledge needed to assess orchids at shows throughout New Zealand.

As Show Marshal, she contributes to the organisation and coordination of orchid shows. Her role as Society Secretary also helps ensure Society business is managed and communicated effectively.

Recognising Dedicated Service

Leigh gives generously of her time, knowledge and energy. Her willingness to take on responsibilities and support others has made a significant contribution to NZOS over many years.

Her service also extends to the wider New Zealand orchid community, where experienced and committed volunteers play an important part in supporting orchid societies, shows and judging activities.
