Martin Bonham: Martin Bonham Awarded NZOS Gold Medal of Achievement

The New Zealand Orchid Society congratulates Martin Bonham on receiving the NZOS Gold Medal of Achievement, in recognition of his outstanding service to the Society and the wider New Zealand orchid community.

NZOS President Larissa Mastakova presented Martin with the Gold Medal, acknowledging his dedication and the many contributions he has made over the years.

Martin is a quiet achiever who works tirelessly behind the scenes, helping at orchid shows and supporting the many tasks involved in running the Society.

One of Martin’s important contributions is managing the database of awarded and placed plants at orchid shows. He also ensures certificates are produced for successful exhibits, an essential part of recognising the achievements of orchid growers and exhibitors.

Martin also provides this service for national shows organised by the Orchid Council of New Zealand, extending his contribution beyond NZOS to the wider orchid fraternity.

Much of Martin’s work takes place behind the scenes, without fanfare or recognition. Yet his commitment, practical skills and willingness to help make a real difference to the successful running of orchid shows and Society activities.

The Gold Medal of Achievement is a fitting recognition of Martin’s dedication and the many years of service he has given to the New Zealand Orchid Society.

Thank you, Martin, for your valuable contribution to NZOS and orchid growers throughout New Zealand. Congratulations on this well-deserved honour.
